Domain Names Do you already have a domain name other than <myfamily>.ancestortree.net? We host domain names at no charge. Simply point them to our servers.
If you would like to get a domain name you'll need to register it with a registrar. We've used http://www.directnic.com/ in the past. Generally registration will cost about $10 - $15 annually. After registration you can point the domain name to our servers.
Again, we don't charge extra for hosting your domain registered elsewhere.
You can use the yourname.ancestor.net domain to set up your family website and switch to your own domain name later.
Customization If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of PhpGedView you are at the right place. We develop patches for PhpGedView. We may do this for free if the patch will be useful to others. In this case we may choose to submit the patch to PhpGedView so that it will appear in a later version. If the patch is for a more specialized purpose we may charge for it, but we will clear estimated charges with you beforehand.
Other Software While we specialize in PhpGedView, we can co-host other software such as Genmod, Webtrees, Joomla, WordPress, Gallery, Pligg, dotProject, Mediawiki, or WebCalendar. We can also set up your domain to work with Google apps.
Backup Service Ancestor Tree backs up your genealogy data, and we can backup your websites and databases on other servers too. Contact us to see if your hosting service is compatible and for pricing.
